Tell us about your projectBespoke development starts from one specific need in your store. We then decide where it lives: in the theme, in an app, or in a function that Shopify runs.
We build themes and sections in Liquid, with their blocks and settings in the Shopify theme editor. Your team then updates content from that editor. Product-specific information is stored in metafields and metaobjects.
When the need goes beyond the theme, we build an app: a screen in the Shopify admin, server-side logic, and data exchanged with other services. An app can stay private to your store or be listed on the Shopify App Store.
Shopify Functions run your own rules inside Shopify's infrastructure: a discount calculated from the customer or the cart, a delivery option renamed or hidden, a payment method removed, a cart checked before payment. A Function is always shipped inside an app.
Extensions add blocks to the checkout, the thank-you page and the customer account: a field, a message, an option. They replace edits to the checkout.liquid file, which Shopify has retired.
We connect Shopify to the systems you run the business on: ERP, fulfilment provider, CRM, email platform. Data covers products, stock, orders, customers and prices. For each flow, the direction, the frequency and the rule for conflicts are written down before development starts.

Private Prices shows discounted prices reserved for your logged-in customers, or for those with a specific tag. The discount applies on its own in the cart and at checkout, with no discount code. Each campaign has a start date and an end date.

For Leon & Harper, a womenswear brand, we built private sales on collections reserved for logged-in customers, colour swatches linking to each style's other colourways, and size selection by buttons. The store runs in French, English and Spanish.

Most development work runs on every Shopify plan: themes and sections, public apps, Shopify Functions shipped in a public app, and extensions for the thank-you page and the customer account. Shopify Plus adds two options. Extensions for the information, shipping and payment steps of the checkout are reserved for it. A custom app that contains Shopify Functions can only be installed on a Shopify Plus store.
At scoping, we tell you whether your need requires Shopify Plus. Four brands on Shopify Plus have handed us their entire store.
We write down the need, the data involved and what is out of scope. The quote is based on that document.
You add us as a Shopify collaborator, with no password shared.
We build on a copy of your theme or on a development store. You test on that preview before anything goes live.
We go live once you approve. The theme code stays yours, versioned on GitHub.
Once live, the Shopify maintenance subscription takes over fixes and new features.

Anything that changes how the store looks is built in the theme, in Liquid. Anything that needs server-side logic, an admin screen or a calculation in the cart is built in an app, with a Shopify Function where needed. We make that choice at scoping.
The theme code is yours, versioned on GitHub. For a custom app, ownership of the code is set by the terms of the quote.
